Projeto de Música no Porto 2025 celebrates the rich musical heritage of the Jews from Eastern Europe, and their Ladino songs that originated from Spain and Portugal many centuries ago.
Projeto de Música no Porto aims to unite diverse communities through songs and dance.
Our mission is to inspire cultural appreciation and foster connections with authentic performances by Taybelekh, and so enriching Porto’s vibrant cultural scene.
Experience the Soul of Jewish Music from East Europe
The inspiration for our band name perhaps come from Tsvey Taybelekh (“Two Little Doves”) which is a haunting Yiddish folk song that speaks of love, separation, and longing. It was famously sung in the Vilna Ghetto during World War Two, and became a symbol of resilience and remembrance.
